Winning Numbers series

The famous ‘British Racing Motors’ that competed in F1 from the 1940s to the 1970s, winning 17 grand prix. This artwork depicts each win, as a series of black and white painted images that each capture every win, focusing on the race numbers of every race, culminating in Jean-Pierre Beltoise’s win in the wet at Monaco in 1972, the last win. These were the eras where race numbers would often be allocated by each race, thus changing race by race, hence this charting of the different numbers and the graphical shapes they create.
Artwork created using acrylics on cartridge art card, framed with AR70 gallery grade art glass. Ready to hang. Original artwork, 1 of 1.

Dimensions (framed) 47 x 57 cm
