Escapade Feature: Daniel Ricciardo's Aston Martin

When one of the most talked-about hypercars on the planet rolls into your space, you pay attention. That’s exactly what happened recently at Escapade Silverstone when Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie arrived for a photoshoot ahead of its upcoming public auction. This isn’t just any car — it’s a bespoke, ultra-rare machine with a story worth telling.

Ricciardo’s Valkyrie — one of only 150 ever built — is a standout even among hypercars. Commissioned personally by the Australian Formula 1 star, this 2023 example (chassis number 089) has lived a very tidy life with just about 160 kilometres on the clock and has been maintained as close to new condition as possible. Its bespoke touches were specified through Aston Martin’s Q division, including a distinctive Dichroic Dawn finish dubbed “Badger Blue,” a nod to Ricciardo’s “Honey Badger” nickname.

The Valkyrie is no ordinary road car. Born from a collaboration between Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing Advanced Technologies, with design input from legendary aerodynamicist Adrian Newey, it brings Formula 1 DNA to the road in a way few cars ever have. A 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 married to a hybrid KERS system produces stratospheric power and performance figures, making it one of the closest things to a road-legal F1 car imaginable.

For collectors and enthusiasts, cars like this don’t come around often. This particular Valkyrie is set to cross the block at Broad Arrow Auctions’ 2025 Zoute Concours Auction in Belgium this October, with pre-auction estimates placing it in the multi-million-dollar range. Its combination of rarity, provenance, and bespoke specification makes it a genuinely significant piece of modern automotive history.

At the Escapade photoshoot, the vibe was a mix of reverence and excitement — this is a car that rewards the eye and the camera in equal measure. Clean lines, wild aero, and a paint colour that changes subtly in the light make it a visual feast. It’s the sort of machine that reminds you why cars and driving culture still matter: they stir emotion, spark conversation, and connect people across makes, eras, and backgrounds.

Whether it ends up in a private collection, a museum, or on display somewhere unexpected, Ricciardo’s Valkyrie will be remembered not just for its specs, but for the story it carries: a hypercar commissioned by a modern racing hero, now ready for its next chapter.

If you’re curious to dive deeper into the car’s auction details or see more photos from the shoot, they’re available in this auction preview and coverage — a great companion to this piece. All imagery owned by Rich Pearce / Broad Arrow Auctions.
